Palabras desde Rumanía

At the begining of the summer, from 1st to 6th of June, we took part of the Workshop about Dance and Music as tool for communication and personal and social cohesion, together with others volunteers from Poland, Portugal, Spain, Luxemburg and Italy. The project was hosted by Spanish Association Los Rosales, in Madrid. During the 5 days of the project, we learned two different rhythms of Flamenco (Tango and Allegria), and some traditional dances from Castilia, from ancient times, called Seguedilla and Jota, that we showed to the locals from Puebla de la Sierra, at the Festival Esquileo. We also took some classes of music, and the trainers taught us how to use hand made and daily tools as musical instruments. ( Flamenco drums – cajon, tambourine, flute, carasclas). The best thing of the project is the way we managed to interact and collaborate all together. By using music and dance as communication tool, we realized how easily can be broken the language barrier. In such a short time, we have created a great team. Our purpose is to teach to others, like children from kindergarden and friends everything we have learned in this project.
